Appreciation and Thanksgiving
As
we conclude the First Term, the Management of Greater Heights Academy sincerely
thanks God for His faithfulness and protection throughout the term. We deeply
appreciate your unwavering support, prayers, and commitment to your children’s
education and wellbeing.
This
term’s guiding theme, “Empowered for Exploits,” reflects our commitment to
nurturing learners who are academically sound, morally upright, and socially
responsible. Despite existing challenges, we have made commendable progress in
delivering quality education using our newly introduced curriculum.
We
also appreciate all stakeholders who actively participated in our Stakeholders’
Engagement Forum. Your contributions continue to shape our policies and
direction as we work together to build a stronger institution.
First Term Highlights
Activities and Events
Colour
Day (Nursery): Encouraged creativity, confidence, and social skills among young
learners.
Educational
Visit to EFCC: Instilled values of integrity, discipline, and civic
responsibility.
Campaign
Against Violence Against Females: Promoted awareness and advocacy for safety
and equality.
Football
Competition: Enhanced teamwork, leadership, and physical development.
Assembly
Presentations: Gave students opportunities to develop public speaking and
leadership skills.
Academic Progress and Institutional Development
Student
Performance
We
recorded progress in learner engagement and performance, though challenges
remain, including limited learning resources, irregular attendance, and
insufficient home supervision. We appeal to parents to actively support
homework, reading habits, and punctual school attendance.
Curriculum
Review and Subject Structure
To
ensure mastery and reduce overload:
Basic 1–3: 7–8 core subjects
Basic4–6:9subjects
This new framework encourages deeper understanding and improved learning
outcomes.
Strategic Improvements for Second Term and Beyond
As
part of our efforts to improve academic excellence, digital advancement,
safety, and infrastructure, the school will implement the following projects:
1. Computer-Based Test (CBT) Centre
We
are establishing a CBT center to prepare students for modern examination
systems. This will:
Improve
digital literacy
Train
students in standardized testing formats
Enhance
computer skills required for national and international examinations
2. CCTV Installation
To
improve safety and monitoring:
CCTV
cameras will be installed within key school areas
This
will strengthen security
Reduce
incidents of misconduct
Provide
parents with increased confidence in school safety
3. Science Laboratory Upgrade
We
are upgrading our laboratory facilities with:
Modern
science equipment
Improved space for practical learning
Stronger emphasis on experimental science
This will lead to better academic performance in STEM subjects.
4. Solar Power Installation
To
ensure uninterrupted learning:
Solar
energy will support classrooms and laboratories
Improve
technology usage
Reduce
dependence on unstable power supply
Support
sustainability and cost efficiency
